Samphire + Galbanum

Crithimum maritimum L. - Samphire

Origin: Croatia

Plant part: Leaves and Flowers

Method: Steam-distilled

Description

I suspect that samphire is a real power-plant, alluded to in Shakespeare’s ‘King Lear’, but that it has fallen into obscurity and been forgotten. To me it has to do with reconnecting with the wild sacred masculine. The plants grows in rocks above the sea, and King Lear thought the harvesting of it was a ‘dreadful trade’ to climb the rocks to collect it. But it clearly must have been worth engaging in such a dangerous practice. The aroma is fresh, light and herbacious, maybe a little like rosemary, but there is a hidden depth, which reminds me almost of palo santo (which we are no longer using). Samphire essential oil helps us focus on the task ahead (like the harvester climbing the rocks to collect it) and I think it’s a powerful ally for protection from dark and negative forces. I think it can bring light into the darkness. It can keep us from getting lost or going astray with distractions.

Galbanum Absolute

Description

This is another oil that we searched far and wide for. This is another oil we use extensively for historical trauma work, as it helps to connect with our ancestral strengths. It is very powerful and helps us to realize our true path in life. It will not listen to excuses. We have also used it for addiction. It helps us to release deeply and work with our authentic life force. It combats inertia and does not let excuses get in the way. It is the oil of committing to our path. This oil really helps us to own and integrate our own life stories. This gives us a certain feeling of freedom and independence. It does however, force us to let go of old outdated ways of being in the world that are no longer healthy for our evolution.
